YW COVERSTAR: THE MANY FACES OF LUCIE MEMBA BOS.

YW COVERSTAR: THE MANY FACES OF LUCIE MEMBA BOS.

THE MANY FACES OF LUCIE MEMBA BOS. In an industry where foundations are still being built, she has already established herself as a passionate and hardworking actress, producer and entrepreneur. That’s how we have all come to know and love Lucie Memba Bos. Penjo Baba had posted some pictures of Lucie on Facebook with a brief introduction of who she was. My initial reaction was the same reaction I had when I first saw Lupita Nyong’o on MTV shuga. Lucie possessed that same world class, world dominating presence. I was so excited, excited to find out more about this actress. So when the time came to kickstart YW Coverstar in 2011, Lucie was one of the first celebrities I contacted for an exclusive interview. She was gracious, friendly and very cooperative. We went as far as creating the cover for the interview but you know what they say, you’re ready only when you’re ready. Fast forward to 2018…guess we’re finally ready. Lucie Memba Bos hails from Nchang, in the Western Province. Growing up in Bafoussam(still in the Western Province), the actress always knew she wanted to be great. At an early age of seven, she trained and performed as a contemporary, traditional and classic dancer. While in secondary school, Lucie wanted to do more so she took part in music and also joined the gymnastics team. Being so good at it, Lucie was chosen to represent her school at the regional championship and she won. She was then chosen to represent the Western region at the national championship where she came fifth. With that under her belt, Lucie went...
YW COVERSTAR: EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH KRYSMAR…PART TWO.

YW COVERSTAR: EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH KRYSMAR…PART TWO.

YW Your caption on Instagram states ‘Attitude is everything.’ What’s your definition of Attitude?   KRYSMAR Yes! for me, attitude is the position one chooses to take in the face of the different situations of life. for example, if you see a glass of unfilled water lying on a table, then you have the choice to see it either half empty or half full depending on your current state of mind. the right attitude would like you to see it half full to encourage you to make a little more effort to fill it. this principle applies to all the situations of the world we are facing. In conclusion, always choosing to adopt a positive attitude is the key to cross all the obstacles that will be in our path. YW The month of March is women’s month and we just celebrated International Women’s Day with a powerful theme ‘Push For Progress.’...

BLACKENICIOUS GLOW UNCOVER’D: SILKY GIFTY.

BLACKENICIOUS GLOW UNCOVER’D: SILKY GIFTY.

When I started the Blackenicious Glow campaign, my goal was to showcase and celebrate the beauty of the black skin through my social media platforms. Through the platforms, I’ve been able to celebrate black beauties from around the world. It gives me so much joy to continue to celebrate and take it further with BLACKENICIOUS GLOW UNCOVER’D, where we’ll not only celebrate our black beauties but also get to know them better.  That being said, we kick off  BGU with Silky Gifty, the sassy, crazy, fun and just all round badass baldie, boldie blackenicous glow from Lagos, Nigeria.   Eno-Obong Etim Effiong, who goes by the name Silky Gifty, is a vibrant personality who follows her own rules and is not afraid to express herself whether on social media or off. Silky hails from Akwa Ibom State and was born and raised in Cross River State, Nigeria. She’s the fourth of six children and lost her father at a very tender age. She and her siblings were raised by a strong mother who was always about love and discipline. “I was a very stubborn child. I didn’t make the job easier for her but she didn’t spare the rod.” She taught them the importance of education but most importantly, the importance of hard work. The latter has been her principle till this day so it’s no surprise that she has hands dipped in numerous pots. Silky Gifty is not only a filmmaker(Actor, Producer and Script Writer), this talented lady is also a model, dressmaker(still learning) and a caterer. In fact, during our first chat, I caught her at a...
NDOLOMIX: THE FACE OF LOVE WITHOUT SEX.

NDOLOMIX: THE FACE OF LOVE WITHOUT SEX.

I was just thinking about this year’s valentine’s day and how much I enjoyed it. Celebrating this special day has evolved over the years and so have I. Like most people in a committed relationship, we want our love to grow along with everything; sexlife, success, and more family. So even though I am not particular about Vdays, I was pondering what love has been like on “non-holidays”.  There are so many days when we have shared overwhelming love for each other from just a moment together. For example, the other night he brought home a chocolate covered cake for me from Lila’s, a new bakery in bonapriso that I wanted to check out. I’ll say just the gesture itself opened me up and I spilled my love to him as I enjoyed the cake. The moment was just perfect, listening to music, eating the deliciously sweet cake and going deeper into our conversation. Later, I felt so thoroughly massaged inside that I slept off instantly. I woke up the next day certain I can choose that version of closeness over even sex. In terms of feeling, a moment  like that to me is way stronger, way deeper than sex. So what if sex was taken out? No problem, because I believe that love is a feeling and there are many other things that bring us a shared feeling of love for each other. We focus on the things that unify us with the same intensity. That feeling of not wanting to be with anyone else, of following our own hearts each day. Communication is key. The conversations in...
