COVER STAR: YW INTERVIEW WITH TOOSHAI FACES.

Meet the incredible Sinchang Cho. She’s the very talented MUA and beautician of Tooshai Faces. I’m a fan of Sinchang’s work. We had long hours of conversations over the phone in prep for this interview and each conversation left me feeling so empowered and proud. Proud of the woman she has become, the wife, the mother and most importantly the creative Makeup Artist and Beautician the nation and the rest of the world will soon get to know.Though she resisted several times, makeup always found a way to be front and centre in her life. With colleagues always complimenting her makeup, friends asking her to do their makeup and even working as the makeup artist on set of a Cameroonian movie and a music video as well gave Sinchang the boost to finally embrace her calling. Below is the interview we did with Tooshai Faces. Read, get to know her and spread the word.    YW: How and when did you get your start in makeup? TSF: I can’t exactly tell how I started, I happened to always have my makeup right or at least better than most other girls makeup. So I just remember as far back as when I was in Lower sixth in 1998, I started doing my brows, then others wanted me to do their brows, it wasn’t exactly what it is today but it looked good at the time. Then later on in University, I used to help my mom out at her hair Salon, she was a teacher but she owned a Hair salon and when we all got back from school, we’ll...

COVER STAR: YW VIDEO INTERVIEW WITH DUWA.

COVER STAR: YW VIDEO INTERVIEW WITH DUWA.

Whenever Tosin,Milounge boss, starts a conversation with “YO!”,I just know something is about to pop. I had been woken up by my ringtone on this particular morning. It was Tosin on the line, all excited like he just came face-to-face with a gold mine. He was about to send over a song by this incredible artist for me to listen. Once the audio came through, I pressed play and was transported into a delightful musical world and once her voice came on, my ears instantly did somersaults…my excitement levels went off the roof.   After that, I knew I had to get to know this superstar soundbox even more. Once I got her contact, we got talking on whatsapp. If ever you got talking to Duwa, you quickly realise why her sound is so dreamily beautiful. She’s soft-spoken, respectful and widely and finely skilled to know exactly how she wants to present herself and music to the world. Born Glory Ojoduwa on the 29th of August, 1988 to Nigerian parents in the United States of America. Growing up in Washington DC, Duwa always had an irresistible love for music. Her parents recognised her talent at a very early age and her dad would record home videos of little Duwa singing down a storm. That love propelled her to join the children’s choir and then youth choir where she did lead solos and also conducted the choir. Off to college where she studied Mass Communication and Media Integration, she also sang in a college band which helped ignite her love for music even more. Because of this irresistible love for...
NEW MUSIC VIDEO: THIS IS AFRICA(TIA) BY NABIL4REAL FT PAZZO.

NEW MUSIC VIDEO: THIS IS AFRICA(TIA) BY NABIL4REAL FT PAZZO.

Cameroonian music keeps breaking airwaves worldwide. It’s been such a proud moment these past years for Camroonians all over to see their artists on global platforms, receiving awards. Cameroonian artists have dabbled with sounds and finally identified their position in the new fast growing African music industry. We must say, we’re all happy with the results. It’s so refreshing to hear hits back-to-back from our artists and Nabil has just added another to the catalogue. In this song, Nabil4Real keeps it very real with his lyrics while taking us on a musical memory lane. The intro reminds me of Pierre Didy Tchakounte’s Magabe Sophistique. The ever-present sanza instrument(contri piano) in the background warns your heart while the lyrics put a smile on your face “…we no get passport for take we go dey but when you go dey, you go find we for dey…”Baam!!! The video brings out the TIA concept really well, blending the cultural and the modern. The end of the video gives you a good taste of Nabil, the actor…very hilarious. Fantastic song…fantastic video…sorry for bringing this 2 weeks late. <iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/lnjXs-1vcqo” frameborder=”0″...
