MEET THE CAST OF BLACK PANTHER.

Is your melanin on fleek? %400 melaninity. When Chadwick Boseman was unveiled as Black Panther 2 years ago to join the cast of Captain America, Marvel fans all over the world were estatic to know that they’d finally get the chance to see Black Panther come to life on the big screen. Since last year, news has been circulating about a Black Panther movie with Lupita Nyong’o and Michael B Jordan joining Chadwick Boseman in the movie, a movie that’s definitely going to be epic. During the San Diego Comic Con that took place over the weekend, comic lovers were thrilled to be introduced to the official cast of Black Panther which comprised of Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Michael B. Jordan as Erik Killmonger and Danai Gurira as Okoye. They start filming in early 2017 and will be directed by Ryan Coogler who also directed Fruitvale Station and Creed which also starred Michael B. Jordan. The movie comes out in 2018. I don’t expect mediocre from this brilliant team so I’m really looking forward to this. Bring on 2018. Hope Florence Kasumba will be joining the cast.  Anyway watch the video of the cast reveal at the San Diego Comic...
MEN WITH SWAG: DAVID GINOLA.

MEN WITH SWAG: DAVID GINOLA.

Most 49-year-old men drown in baggy suits and machete ties…not David Ginola. It an-all-black-everything for the French former football player during a nightout at the Chiltern Firehouse. The former Newcastle player was spotted wearing a black blazer over a black shirt and stone-washed black skinny jeans…yeah…skinny jeans. Loving the grey loafers. I can’t lie, I’ve been crushing on this man since ’95 and he just keeps getting better with age. The salt and pepper hair makes him even more sexy. Note to men: It would be nice for men to cut their coats according to their sizes(not more than their sizes) and show some shape. I’m sure women would love...

#MCM: OMARI HARDWICK AND JOSEPH SIKORA FLEX THEIR POWER IN THE GYM.

#MCM: OMARI HARDWICK AND JOSEPH SIKORA FLEX THEIR POWER IN THE GYM.

Power is one of the best series( if not the best) at the moment…great storyline…great cast but these two are the reason my eyeballs stayed glued to the screen(like a Kafachbanian seeing a TV screen for the very first time) once I hear “They say this is a big rich town…” My #mcm goes to Omari Hardwick and Joseph Sikora for making my Power experience more exciting and for sharing this picture to the world. Their wives must be...

DAKORE EGBUSON-AKANDE IS A STUNNER ON THE COVER OF BLANCK MAGAZINE.

She’s one of the faces and voices that makes my Nollywood experience meaningful, then she disappeared from our screens for five years and didn’t we all miss her? After becoming a wife and a mother of two gorgeous girls, Nigerian actress Dakore Ebguson-Akande made a big comeback to the industry with numerous movie roles and endorsements and did I mention looking finer and fitter? Anyway, check her out on the Spring/Summer cover of Blanck Magazine. In the body-themed issue, the Fifty actress talks candidly about her body issues and losing her baby weight. In an in-depth interview, Nigerian star actress Dakore Akande talks to Blanck about being very self-conscious and working really hard to change the things she didn’t like about her body, using realistic and level headed approaches. Attributing motivation and determination as elements that fueled her ability to shed all her baby weight and getting back into her filming business.  When we sat to talk about losing all the postpartum weight and fitting into the media’s idea of what a TV star should look like; she takes it to church “it’s about what rocks your boat” she says “but don’t let anyone dictate for you who you should be; skinny doesn’t mean beautiful.” Also in this issue are riveting fashion editorials, topical articles and a special interview feature with media personality and all round fabulous Wana Udobang, who schooled us on the importance of living our healthiest and most authentic lives on our terms, irrespective of our body shape, form or size.  This issue of the magazine is our most rewarding yet, as we seek to to celebrate the progressive nature of womanhood. The digital version will be available online,...
IWD SHOUTOUT: OKAWA SHAZNAY AND ANITA ADETOYE.

IWD SHOUTOUT: OKAWA SHAZNAY AND ANITA ADETOYE.

I woke up this morning feeling very empowered, energised and just all round happy. All these feelings had been brought about by the beautiful International Women’s Day messages  from friends/family which had nowhere else to but to sit in my soul(because what I felt was more than just a touch). This got me thinking of a post to write celebrating that woman who is out there following her dreams without fear, that woman I have seen grow from strength to strength. I finally picked two ladies…Cameroonian actress Okawa Shaznay and Nigerian MUA Anita Adetoye  of AnitaBrowsBeauty. This was very easy choices for me to make. Through mutual friends, I got to know these ladies and I have followed their journeys for a while now via social media. I interviewed Okawa in October 2010 who I got to know through my cousin Susana. Before the official interview, we had some pre-interview skype chats to get to know her better. What struck me the most was her humility which instantly put me at ease and we just chatted like longtime buddies. I remember her expressing her desire to move to Nigeria to pursue acting. I was completely blown away by that because she was already acting in Houston, Texas where she was based at that time and was quickly making a name for herself. On top of that, she had a bright future in Accounting. How would someone with that kind of security and stability in the land of ‘dreams-come-true’, leave it all behind to pursue acting in Nigeria? I was gobsmacked and excited for her all at the same time. She...
