BLACK PANTHER HOLLYWOOD PREMIERE IS ROYALTY GOALS.

If Meghan and Harry needed inspiration with the dress code for their May wedding, then the Black Panther Los Angeles premiere got their back. The Black Panther movie, kicked off its first premiere in Los Angeles last night. The actors and actresses and some of the citizens of Wakanda(We’re all citizens of Wakanda) turned up in all their royal glory to celebrate, rejoice and make history. The venue for the most anticipated movie in Marvel history was laid out with a purple carpet and was  jampacked with Hollywood royalty, including Angela Bassett, Lupita Nyong’o, Forest Whitaker, Danai Gurira, Courtney B Vance, Chadwick Boseman, Florence Kasuumba, Michael B Jordan and many more.   Every black person and their mama have been waiting excitedly to see the movie and most especially the red carpet fashion. We were not disappointed. The designers from Deola Sagoe, Versace, Naeem Khan, Armani, Christian Siriano and many more brought vibrancy, prints, colours and flamboyance to truly capture the rich African fashion…African Royalty.   Photo credits: Dailymail. BIG HAIR DON’T CARE.

2018 saw the premiere of Love and Hip-Hop Miami and everyone is still going on about the Afrolicious queen, Amara La Negra. Her beauty, her body and that haurrrrr gurrrl! Speaking of the hair, Amara was mocked by one of her cast mate on LHHM,  Young Hollywood, because of her big  luscious Afro hair. In order to break the American music market, he asked her to be ‘more Beyonce and less Macy Gray.’ He explained that the sleek look is more appealing and suitable than the big afro…whaaat? Anywhooo, we can’t blame him. He’s only following in the footsteps of a society where anything black, from hair to skin tone, has ignorantly pushed to the back…always. They see the black skin as unappealing and the Afro hair as untamed. We’re not here for it. Yenihsworld promotes the beauty of the black skin and the afroliciousness of the our hair texture, short, big and untamed. Afro hair/Big hair/Lion mane has always been sexy. It symbolises strength, confidence, freedom and most especially beauty. Today on our platform, we’re celebrating Amara and many of our sisters in media/entertainment who are influencing the world while rocking their afros with so much sassiness  and class. Amara La Negra, Afro-Latina singer and Love and Hip Hop Miami cast member.   Sahndra Fon Dufe, Cameroonian actress, author and activist.   Joan Ngomba, Cameroonian presenter, producer, blogger and founder of Dcoded TV.   Lydia Epangue, Cameroonian Fashion Blogger.   Frédérique Harrel, Cameroonian/French Fashion/Lifestyle Blogger, Entrepreneur, Speaker, Founder of SHE unleashed and Big Hair No Care.   Mimi Mbah, Cameroonian model and glorious clapbacker(LOL)   Funmilola Akande, Nigerian...

OMAWUMI WOWS IN ‘SOMTIN’ VIDEO.

This is some grown folk swag and we’re here for it. Omawumi is on a love PSA. The Nigerian soulful singer, who recently got married, happily lets us know the meaning of true love in her latest single ‘somtin.’ She’s letting the world knows she loves her man and it doesn’t matter what you…you…and you think. Preach on sis! Oooouuuu…the uptempo song is so satisfying, my soul is on some back flips activities right now. Anywhoo, she has just released the video and it’s just as beautuiful as the song. In the video, we see Owawumi and a bunch of her friends and colleagues in the Nigerian entertainment industry just party and have a good time. The cameo list is lit. I have a feeling this song would be our African version of ‘Candy’ by Cameo. I see everyone dancing to it at weddings, with full choreography. Enjoy the video below....

I don’t expect everybody to understand me, the few that can are the ones I’m happy to work with. But in all, I do my best to understand people and situations. I have learnt to choose love anytime. It’s easy to hate, insult and...

She loves love and she loves people. It’s no surprise Adeline Azah Ntoh, founder of The Liiwir Method, passionately chose a career path that combines both so well. In this article/interview, the certified Yoga instructor takes us on an exciting Yoga journey, The Liiwir Method. So how did it all begin? It all began for Adeline in 2006 when she was working in corporate. It was the first time of having consistent internet access and being the curious one, Adeline dived straight into internet haven, exploring and discovering. She had always been fascinated by the possibility of people creating ideal lifestyles for themselves. It was through exploring and discovering that she came across numerous fitness and lifestyle blogs which opened her up to her own ideal world . She fell in love immediately.During her spare time, Adeline would enjoy reading through fitness and lifestyle blogs. What intrigued her the most was the fact that the people behind these blogs were living their best lives from the comfort of their homes. She wanted that too. At that point in her life, Adeline was very determined to create an ideal lifestyle for herself, one which she could follow through for the rest of her life. Going through all the fitness blogs, yoga stood out the most. It resonated with her because she wanted to create something that she could do even on her laziest day. YENIH’S DELITES: A CAMEROON JELLOF(JOLLOF) FEAST.

On this particular day, I was craving Cameroon Jellof rice but I really didn’t feel like cooking. I just wanted to stay in bed and catch up on 24: Legacy(I’m still pissed the show got cancelled…mscheeew!) Anyway, back to the matter. So I told myself “I’ll just go in, prepare a quick jellof rice and roasted chicken and I’m out of the kitchen.” So how did I end up with a feast? How Sway? Anywhooo, by now, I should know I don’t just get in and out…I get in and feast out. So that’s how yours truly came up with all of these. What’s on the menu? 1.) Cameroon Jellof Rice. 2.)Plantain cups filled with sautéed mixed peppers, prawns and kidney beans. 3.) Spicy Roasted Chicken. 4.)Potato Salad. ✌✌✌✌...

SPOTLIGHT: YENIH’S DELITES.

I remember my friend once asked me ‘What does cooking mean to you?’ and I replied “Cooking is a conversation with the soul”. That instantly resonated with her. She later on told that it switched  her mindset to start seeing cooking as a time to connect with her soul rather than a chore. With time, she started noticing great improvements in her cooking( and it had nothing to do with the fancy Wok her partner gave her as present). I love food but more importantly, I love to cook. I’ve always been fascinated about the science behind cooking. How one can can instinctively and rightfully blend spices and food together to make a delicious meal. I love the colours, the textures but most importantly, the taste of food. Through cooking, I realised the best meals come from your gut feeling and not from recipes. I realised your soul needs to be fully awake when cooking.(I realised that’s when the best meals are made, whether freestyle or well-known recipes.) Whether from Bombay to Bafut, the culture behind cooking/food moves me. For over 4 years now, I’ve been documenting my cooking. I’ve created a special segment on this blog where I’ll be sharing pictures and stories of my experiences during the process. With time, I also plan to share recipes so we can all participate in the cooking experience. I hope to entertain, inspire through my love for cooking. Let’s have...

FOUNDER OF TOOSHAI FACES TALKS BEAUTY, BULLYING AND STRENGTH WITH NEW PHOTOSHOOT.

Bullying can scar one for life. To overcome it leaves you powerful, superhuman powerful…ask Shaitou Cho, founder of  Tooshai Faces. The popular MUA recently shared a powerful message on her facebook  page, on how she overcame bullying. When I was younger I was bullied about my protruding forehead, and I grew up thinking it was a problem, so I always chose hairstyles that will cover it up. But curiously this bullying made me strong because I adopted and accepted all the nicknames that were levied on me because of this head. Ask my classmates and school mates and teachers from PSS Bafut, Eric Forbi Forbi, Yenih Ngwabo LI LI Forkum Mboka Ndeh Nelson Ndeh Golda K. Ajode Sylvia Yenwong-fai Malaika Nain Ngole Adjeley Yobo Solange Fonkem Beryl Litil Nubed-Tchuetie Lorraine Ndingwan it was just fun time for all of us. In the end I realised this was the most beautiful part of my body and what always made my looks stand out. I knew once you could love yourself and accept yourself as you are, no one will make you feel different, because God created you as you are in a unique way. So I”unveiled” the head 😂😂, if you can say that and started enjoying everything about me. To all of us who do body shaming, give love a chance, and to all those who don’t love something about themselves, know that you were created by God in a unique way and you are here to serve a purpose. Use everything you have and be the best you can be. Let people like Nick Vujicic, Turia Pitt, Muniba Mazari and a host of others be your inspiration. How powerful is this? Sinchang...

GLITTER QUEENS: KIM KARDASHIAN AND BEYONCE.

Kim Kardashian broke the internet again today with her latest post. The reality star/Business woman announced her soon-to-be-released ultralight beams highlighters and glosses from her KKW beauty line by posting a half naked picture of herself, covered in body glitter. The shimmering beauty products will be launched on the 1st of December on her KKW beauty website. With Christmas being all about shimmers, I’m guessing these products would fly off the shelves like turkey on Christmas eve. Kim sure knows the stack up money game. Keep growing…keep glowing gurl! Anywhooo…when I saw this on her Instagram page, it instantly reminded me of the 2013 Flaunt magazine cover of Beyoncé in which she also posed half naked covered in body glitter. What’s better than one curvalicious, glittericious woman…TWO! Both ladies are body glitter...

YW COVERSTAR: EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH EBANGHA NJANG.

She can easily be confused for a model with her striking looks and her signature androgynous fabulous style. So…are these some of the factors that make Ebangha Njang standout? It was her media presence that first caught my attention. On Facebook and Twitter, she was always going hard, promoting Cameroonian artists. It was really refreshing to see the love and support she was pouring into the Cameroon music industry. How could one not notice? Around the time we were gearing up for our next Coverstar feature, I received a message from Ebangha “Hello I’ve been following your blog for a while now. I think y’all amazing.” At that moment, I felt she was a genie and had just granted my wish because little did she know that she was at the top of the few people we had in mind to be featured on the next cover. We immediately took that as a sign and violà! YW’s latest coverstar. Yvonne Ebangha Njang was born and raised in Douala and Edéa respectively. Her dad( who worked with the Ministry of Agriculture) and her mum( a Housewife), instilled discipline and the fear of God in her and five siblings at very young ages. Being a close knit family, her childhood was filled with fun family times, including relaxing by the River Sanaga, watching favourite cartoons and attending church on Sundays. That makes for an exciting childhood, doesn’t it? But it wasn’t exactly the same when it came to her teenage years. “My teenage years didn’t mean much to me honestly. I know it’s hard to believe lol but i was a...
